Breakfast & Brunch

1. The Farm

At the top of our list is The Farm, brought to Byron Bay by the founders of the Three Blue Ducks franchise. Set on an 80-acre farm, with views of the Byron Hinterland, this healthy food haven ticks all the boxes. Think delicious meals made with organic, fresh produce sustainably sourced or grown on-site; The Farm takes paddock to plate dining to a whole new level. Enjoy a picnic overlooking the sunflower fields – the perfect Insta spot – or dine in for breakfast and lunch daily.

Why we love it: Delicious sustainably sourced grub in a wholesome farm setting. Plus…did we mention the happy pigs and chooks?!

11 Ewingsdale Rd, Ewingsdale NSW 2481 – 10 min drive from The Surf House.
Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch (daily), Dinner (Thu, Fri, Sat)

2. Folk

One of our all-time favourite vegetarian and plant based cafes, Folk is an absolute delight. Located away from the hustle and bustle, around a 20min walk from town towards Belongil Beach, it’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a healthy feed. On the menu you’ll find hearty wholefood brunch options, smoothies, organic, house-crafted naturopathic teas and elixirs. We recommend grabbing a picnic rug, ordering a feast and setting up under the palms. Sound dreamy? It is!

Why we love it: The food is delicious (our top pick is the soba noodle salad!) and the vibe is right with pumping 70’s tunes all day and an oh-so-cute outdoor area.

3. Combi

Fresh, colourful and summery, Combi is one of our favourite healthy cafes in Byron with amazing superfood smoothies and bowls, using only the best local ingredients, and dishing up the best avo on toast in town. Catering for all, with plenty of veggie, vegan and gluten free options (they even make their own house nut mylk), this light and bright cafe makes for a gorgeous morning brekkie spot in the heart of town. Best of all? You can walk there in under 2 minutes from The Surf House. Rolling out of bed for your morning smoothie has never been easier.

“We are passionate about using organic ingredients, free from synthetic pesticides and chemicals, as close to how they exist in nature to preserve not only the taste but also our environment.”

Why we love it: Their spicy lentil veggie soup is the perfect winter warmer!

4. The Byron Bay General Store

Dating back to 1947, The Byron Bay General Store, located in an iconic Byron building (one of the oldest commercial buildings in town in fact) is a firm favourite amongst locals and travellers. These guys are big on local organic produce and healthy, high quality food. Predominantly vegan (with a side or two of dairy for the egg and cheese lovers out there!), you’ll find a large range of dishes including gluten-free eats, brunch bites and smoothie bowls.

Why we love it:  Not only are their smoothie bowls delish, but these Byron locals have some great eco conscious systems in place to reduce waste and their overall impact on the environment. These include discounts for doing your bit, compostable packaging, waste sorting system and solar energy.

Their mission? “We invite you to join us on our expedition to save the Earth one Brussel Sprout at a time.” We’re in!

Why we love it:  The flavours, the vibe and guilt-free munching on their Chick’n, roasted cauli and eggplant fatteh. A treat for the soul – we 100% recommend.
